SAME, SAME... BUT BETTER.

Micro cement is all the rage at the moment, but as with all renovation and building projects, the devil's in the detail.

As a bathroom renovation consultant, it seems these days almost everyone will have at least one image on their mood board of a bathroom with the minimalist lustre and appeal of microcement. If you're after an organic and natural vibe, nothing quite compares with the matte, textured finish of microcement. Until now...

Clients wanting to utilise microcement in their project need to do their due diligence and research the product thoroughly. Especially if their project is a wet area with waterproofing membrane, they need to research how the product will perform over time because should it fail, it will be a very costly exercise to rectify. Apart from this, clients also need to factor in the cost - on the surface microcement looks to be a cost-effective alternative to tiling, but that is just the product - with a higher degree of labour involved (in some cases up to eight coats, requiring three days for each coat to cure), the finished cost could easily blow your budget.

That is, until now. There are now a whole range of matte, textured tiles that look like microcement, with all the benefits of being the most durable product - a porcelain tile. Our range of Balance, Select and Riga tiles will give you all the aesthetic benefits of a microcement finish, with none of the problems. And if you choose a larger format (600x600) and colour match your grout, the result will be seamless. These tiles also come in a range of earthy tones to suit your individual project. We even have a range called Matter that strongly resembles Venetian plaster (Tadelakt), which gives you more of a hand-rubbed, semi-gloss finish rather than matte.

Regardless of which finish or colour you opt for, you'll certainly nail that coastal look, always a winner on the Central Coast.
